A Summary Brief
The company concluded a number of
important meetings leading to the
first project implementation meeting
scheduled for 01 March 2005.
A summary of activities is given
below:
B Meetings
1. Meetings were held with
the following senior official with
the Development
African Bank
between 17-19 November 2004.

The meetings were held on the
advise of
World Bank and to seek institutional
support from the African Development
Bank for the AFRO-CAA project. It
was agreed that a report detailing
the aims and needs of the project
was to be sent to the African
Development Bank in the first
quarter of the year 2005.
2. Meetings were held with
the following Libyan officials

The purpose of these meetings was to
seek Libyan support as a possible
regional centre for Northern Africa
in the AFRO-CAA project. The
officials agreed they would study
the documents and attend the first
meetings to discuss the
implementation.
3. Meeting was held with
NEPAD in January 2005 with the
following officials:
Reatile Mochebelele
Infrastructure and Water Sanitation
Advisor
Godwin Punungwe
Transport Advisor
The purpose of the meetings was to
be introduced to the new
Transport
Advisor and to discuss any
misunderstanding that may have
arisen between interested parties.
4. Meeting was held on 25th
January 2005with the following
personnel of the Development Bank of
South Africa:
- Bane Maleke Regional Manager
Africa Partnership Unit
- Mwafyonjo Lyson Muwila
Programme Manager Africa Partnership
Unit
The purpose of the meeting was to
introduce the project to DBSA for
possible support as the project
progresses.
5. Meeting was held on 25th
January 2005 with the Acting Chief
Executive Officer of
the South
African Civil Aviations - Mr
Mongezi India - to discuss the first
implementation meeting to be held in
South Africa.
Tentative dates were set
for 21st 22nd
March 2005.
6. Meeting was held with the
Director General of the Department
of Transport of South Africa
Ms Wrenelle Stander on 27th
January 2005,
to finalize the venue and
meeting dates for the first
implementation meetings.
As
stated above this was set out for 21st
22nd March 2005.

Marketing
1. Communications have been
made to Namibia, Cameroon, Ethiopia,
Nigeria, Libya and South Africa as
to their attendance on the first
implementation.
