PROFILE OF  MWANGI C wa KAMAU

Known to all simply as 'Mwangi’, he  was born in Nairobi, Kenya, on 13th March 1961.

 

Mwangi spent a few months at Consolata Kindergarten, about two years at St. Annes Nusery, seven years at St. Georges Primary and six years at Lenana (formerly Duke of York) High School. All these schools were a sort ‘ivy league’ and are situated in Nairobi.

 

After High School his parents sent him to Wichita State University in Kansas in the United States of America where he graduated with Honors in Aerospace Engineering. Several years later he returned to The United States and qualified as an Aircraft Accident Investigator at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

 

He is a Chartered Engineer and a Corporate Member of Kenya's Institute of Engineers.

 

After graduating from Kansas Mwangi returned to Kenya where he worked as a Senior Airworthiness Inspector and Deputy Chief Inspector of Aircraft Accidents. He became an accomplished and widely traveled professional, before being contracted in 1998 by the Namibian Government as the Director of Aircraft Accident Investigations. He consequently moved to Windhoek, Namibia from where his duties take him around much of Africa and parts of Europe regularly.

 

Mwangi is married  to a  Kenyan lady and they have three children. His hobbies include the scriptures, history,travel, cultures & horses
