number of important developments
took place during this period.

summary of activities is given below).
B Meetings
Meetings were held as follows:
1)
Meetings were held with AFCAC -

This
was a follow-up to the Montreal
meeting of September 2007 in which
AFCAC indicated their support for
initiatives such as the AFRO-CAA.
AFCAC
confirmed that the President and
Secretary will visit the AFRO-CAA
offices in early 2008.

Meeting was held with AFRAA
Secretary-General, Mr Christian
Folly-Kossi and his Directors in
November 2007 in Nairobi,
Kenya.
Mr
Christian Folly-Kossi and his
Directors were greatly encouraged by
AFRO-CAA and indicated their
intension to visit the AFRO-CAA office sometime in early 2008.
3)
Meetings where held with the
Kenyan authorities in Nairobi in
November 2007 regarding membership
of Kenya to the AFRO-CAA, Mr Bodo
(Director of Transport) and Mr
Enyenze (Deputy Director of
Transport) where detailed by the
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry
of Transport (Mr G Ikiara) to
coordinate the matter with the
Director General of the Kenya Civil
Aviation Authority, Mr C.A Kuto.
4)
Ulf Kramer – BFU (Accident
Investigations) Director Germany.
He agreed and was happy to have an organizations
to corporate with in the African
Continent.

5)
The EU – AU Summit of Heads
of State held in Lisbon in December
2007 was attended. Several Heads of
States from Europe and Africa were
briefed on the AFRO-CAA and support
received for it from various bodies.

1) The updated
DVD was completed and distributed

worldwide.
2)
The DVD will also become a U-Tube
feature on the

AFRO-CAA website.
3) The AFRO-CAA
is being translated into Arabic and

French.
D SADC, EAC, IATA, ECA,
AFRAA
These
organizations are regularly briefed
by our website and Mr Christian
Folly-Kossi as mentioned above has
taken keen interest in the AFRO-CAA.
E MOUs Development
The
MOUs will be published on the
French and Arabic version of the
AFRO-CAA website.
F AFCAC/NEPAD/ICAO
1) Briefing of AFCAC as been
mentioned above.
2) NEPAD continues to be
regularly briefed.
3) ICAO Aviation Security (AVSEC)
meeting was attended in November
2007 and an active role is sought
for the AFRO-CAA.
G Legal
1) The formal proclamation
by the Namibian President to
formalize AFRO-CAA functions in
Namibia was Gazetted. AFRO-CAA is
therefore a recognized international
body head quartered in Namibia.
2) The formal headquarters
agreement between the Namibian
Government and the AFRO-CAA is
nearing completion & amendment with
the Attorney-Generals office.
3) Proposed ACARs (199
Chapters) have been completed and
will be posted on the AFRO-CAA
website.
H Funding
1) Several
states and organizations are
finalizing r
ratification of funds
approved for the AFRO-CAA.
I Any other Business
The following meetings
are scheduled.
1) European Union,
Eurocontrol, EASA for February

2008.
2) South Africa Civil
Aviation Authority and Department of
Transport to discuss their
membership with AFRO-CAA.
3) ICAO – Nairobi
4) Kenya – Ministry of
Transport
5) IATA – ATAG, Switzerland |
